Congratulations to Sgt. Larry Brown: Well Done, Sir!

Plainfield's Finest.*

I want to take this moment to congratulate one of Plainfield's Finest, Sgt. Larry Brown (Qasim Talib), on his retirement from the Plainfield Police Department after 32 years of service to the City of Plainfield. Sgt. Brown will be "walking out" of the police department (200 E. 4th St.) tomorrow (Thursday, March 1) at 1:00 PM. Sgt. Brown has been an exemplary officer whose commitment over the past three decades has been to keep our city safe.

As a Crime Analyst and Criminal Intelligence Supervisor for the PPD, as well as a specialist in gang intelligence, the Sgt.'s work has been a major component in the reduction of crime in our city. Loved and respected by his colleagues, admired by younger officers who have been trained under his tutelage, Sgt. Brown has brought a unique perspective and wealth of experience to the division. As the city council's public safety liaison over the years, I could always call on him for advice if I had questions--I thank him for all that he has brought to the division--his knowledge of police work, the depth of his research skills, and his dedication to training and educating the next generation of public safety professionals. I wish Larry and his family all the best as he navigates into the next phase of his life, and I hope you will join me in thanking him on a job well done.

Best,

Rebecca
