Happy New Year! Thank you for your support as I begin to serve my first full term as a member of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. I am looking forward to continuing to serve you.
It was an honor to have Governor Phil Murphy give the oath of office to affirm me as a member of the board at the 2020 reorganization, and I was especially happy that my mom and two of my siblings, in addition to other friends and family, were able to come to New Jersey to stand with me. I offer congratulations to my freeholder colleagues, Al Mirabella and Angel Estrada, who were sworn in as 2020 Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively. At the reorganization, Chairman Mirabella announced his 2020 initiatives under the title, "Union County 2020: Inclusion, Safety, and Outreach," with a focus on upgrades to Union County's "...public safety infrastructure; supporting entrepreneurship, career development, and education; and working for the equal rights and dignity of all Union County residents."*
This year, I will continue to serve as Chair of the Policy and Administrative Code Committee for the Freeholder board. In that role, I work with my colleagues to review, modify, and update ordinances, policies, and codes to be adopted by the full board. I am also a member of the Fiscal Committee, the Parks and Programming Committee, the Public Works Committee, and I will continue to serve as board liaison to several of the county advisory boards. As I always note, there is much work to be done, and I will continue to post information about events of importance to Union County residents. I will remain open and accessible to all constituents across the county, and you can (and do!) always reach me. I look forward to an exciting new year!
