Union County Mobile COVID-19 Testing Comes to Plainfield

In partnership with the Mapp administration
and the Neighborhood Health Services Corporation, a federally qualified health center (FQHC), Union County has opened a FREE Mobile Testing Unit to serve Plainfield residents who are symptomatic for COVID-19 but who lack transportation.

For Plainfield residents without transportation who present symptoms--fever, cough, shortness of breath--please call 908-546-1084 to be connected to a nurse who will complete a telehealth assessment over the phone. Appointments will be scheduled for residents whose symptoms meet the CDC guidelines for testing, and the Mobile Test Unit will go to those individuals.

For all other Plainfielders (and Union County residents in general) with symptoms who have the means to travel to the main Union County COVID-19 Testing Site at Kean University (Morris Avenue in the Township of Union) where testing is done on a drive-through basis only, please call 908-214-7107 to be connected to a nurse who will complete the assessment over the phone. First responders and front-line health workers may also call 908-373-5105.

Patients receiving an appointment can proceed to the Testing Center at their scheduled time. Again, testing is free, and no other primary care doctor prescription is needed. The Union County COVID-19 Test Center hours are: Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
